The thing that I don't get is: The same Defense companies are also NASA contractors, so if we had given the US$200Bil. that we gave Ukraine, the same contractors could have benefitted (the NASA yearly budget is US$12Bil.).
I think that most of the money earmarked for some foreign war never even leaves the US. I think it is redirected to fill the American oligarchy formally known as politicians. If they tried to do that through NASA there are too many eyeballs watching that agency for them to hide their illicit activity... That's my best guess.
If Biden bombs Yemen then I suspect that Iran and the rest of the Muslim world, with Russia having their back, will likely step in and give the US and Israel the a$$ whooping that they got coming to them. I suspect that is why the people who tell Biden what to do are reluctant to bomb Yemen.
