I know that TV can influence people to do weird things, I'm not the only dude my age with some fond memories of trying to do Evil Kanevil style triks on a motorcycle 😀

Evel Knievel hey? Thanks for reminding me how important influential people were for me growing up.
The last time I checked, I still hold the neighborhood record for jumping 14 trash barrels.
Evel Kneievel style on my 5 speed, Schwinn “Fastback” bicycle!
Landing front wheel first, I face planted. Cauliflower ear, dislocated my left shoulder and the neighborhood police officer helped me home.
Crashing my bike was the least of my troubles. “wait till your father gets home” was my biggest fear!
I was literally head over heels amazed with Evel Kneievel, as so many kids growing up in the 60’s and neighborhood’s were.
With so much information at our fingertips today, it doesn’t surprise me how many people suffer with mental illnesses. Self-diagnosis and self-medicating rationalization. Is not so rational now are they?
By breaking the “nuclear family” apart this has ultimately opened a huge hole in societal problems. This is a gigantic problem and why I believe so many people in America are suffering from so many mental health issues!
This is the real pandemic, epidemic, IMO!
The breakdown of “nuclear family’s”! Those responsible for ripping families apart knew damn well the scope and magnitude this would inevitably lead to / have on society.
As we see today, there’s been such a damaging impact on society simply because of ripping families apart. Even one ethnic group, can have this effect on all of society! As we’re seeing play out all across America!
This is why, I believe so many people are suffering from mental illnesses, among other reasons. Families are the “superglue” which helps society function properly!
Darkstar, thanks for reminding me of my past experiences.
Ahhh,The Schiwnn Fivespeed Stingray. The most loved bicycle of its time. I never got to 15 barrels, (That's quite an accomplishement, AJR).
I did get to seven barrels with mine. The Animals on a transistor radio, a new paper route to pay for my hobbies, module rocket launches in the city park,.
Rock &Roll concerts for 2 bucks,.
Kids had to work if they wanted to have a nice bicycle,
When I bought my first motorcycle (a Yamaha 350)
I already had a job and my own pad. 30 bucks bought a weeks worth of Groceries. An Ibanez Less Paul clone for 350 dollars.
In our time kids were taught to be responsible. If we wanted to get a crib of our own you need to prove you had a steady job,and references.
Thank for all those great memories running through my head.

This is far more Satanic.
Fortunately it's not new.
There's lots of nutjobs in the world.
But don't dispare
There's lots of good people too
Darkstar, (Robert Craig Knievel)

Those day were really different than now.
Free rides for everyone !!!
Those were the day my friend!
Unfortunately, all good things must come to end.
I worked double shifts at large wedding facility. Yes, I worked for everything I wanted. That’s how we grew up.
Thanks Darkstar for sharing your stories.
AJR
Yes. It's so much more fun to ride a bike that you paid for,and have a job that pays for your hobbies, than to get stuff from your parents for free.

You will find one on Governor Hairdo :-)
Thanks for the link Lynn.
And next time I'll wait until I'm not excited by a
Hopeful rumor before I post on whom the VP is.
That's OK. I, too, hear so many things each day. You don't know
what to think at times :-)
Yep. Politics has a way of getting my excited when I hear good news.
Just because good news is so rare these days.
🌞 ☀️
I agree :-)
