I live in williamsville suburb of Buffalo. I know many people were trying to get home from work but national guard should have been here on Thursday stationed. There was no communication between city and surrounding suburbs. Total chaos then the county executive blaming, shaming people for people driving on Friday when the storm hit. As of today 35 dead in the city of Buffalo.

Sad, for sure. Another reason to keep some survival gear in your vehicle especially in an area like upper New York that can see 3-6 foot snow storms.

So sad... could you believe they say it's because of Global Warming?

I was going to say that but couldn't figure out a non-snarky way -- so thank you for stating in a more civil way than I might have. And for the link to your stack.

Is that where Jeffrey's island is? After working so hard he probably just wants to relax on the beach in the sun with a pina colada and also catch up with family and spend some time with the kids. But don't worry. He left Kamala in charge. And he'll be back.

Lifelong resident of the Buffalo area. We are talking about a disaster in more ways than one. Only a detailed investigation and examination of procedures and timing can answer the many, many questions. Mother Nature + human failures. We want to demonize and blame the politicians and that may be warranted for at least some of these deaths.

Wow....how sad. This was some of the worst weather I've ever heard of. God Bless those who were able to help people.
