Well done, citizens of Westlock, Alberta.

Not only is the rainbow 'message' offensively oppressive (similar to government sponsorship of a preferred religion) but the current trend of painting artistically meritless murals and graffiti throughout cities and towns (in the U.S.) is a visual blight on the environment.

I am amazed that this "alliance" in this town thought it was a good thing to paint the "pride" flag all over. That's a propagandistic thing to do. It doesn't need to be in everyone's face at all times. THAT is the offensive part - the blatant virtue signaling.

The good thing is that there were enough rational thinking people on the town council to say - this must be voted on by the people. I surely would not want to be FORCED to see that all the time everyday.

So glad, it was a fairly close vote. Pushed hard for such a small town. That would have been sad for what is considered a farm town.

Would LOVE to do this in my city!! Interesting that the mayor was more interested in virtue signaling than keeping the peace via neutrality. Will be interesting to see if the locals turn around and vote him back in.

Alberta seems to consistently display a level of common sense not always found elsewhere in Canada. Why should being gay or any other sexual or gender preference be shoved in our faces 24/7-365. You be you. I’ll be me. Let’s leave it at that shall we?
