Starting with "Slick Willie" (Bill Clinton), the U.S. began to NOSEDIVE AT WARP SPEED, heading for THE TOILET - Obummer ACCELERATED it to WARP 5, Trump was able to reduce it to Warp 2, but SSSJ (Stupid, Sleepy, Senile Joe) Biden and his White House "Engineers" RAMPED IT BACK UP TO WARP 15, which will DESTROY THE CONSTITUTION CLASS STARSHIP (that was the actual class name of the fastest starships in the Star Trek franchise - their maximum Warp speed was/is 14.1 ... in several ways, I view the Star Trek franchise as somewhat visionary). Our country is now so corrupt that I'm not sure it CAN be repaired - it appears to be in the process of FALLING, THE SAME WAY AS THE ROMAN & GREEK EMPIRES DID.😪🤬🤬🤬
You forgot the assassinations of RFK, MLK & the murders of the kids at Kent State. It was a horrible decade & the beginning of the long slide downward. We could have changed history had we not accepted the report on JFK assassination, but even though even then it was suspected something was off with the truth, who was have thought that the CIA would murder its own President! When they got away with that it gave them free rein to keep on going murdering & causing chaos up until now. Now the FBI & DOD are in on it.
I forgot NOTHING, Leslie - I simply covered the events that were KEY TO ACCELERATION OF the decline ... I LIVED IT so I KNOW. YOU evidently forgot the mass shooting at the University of Texas Tower, Austin campus, in 1966 - I lived in Belton Texas at that time, ~45mi from the UT Austin campus and I had friends there (fortunately not shot, but SHOCKED). In the 1970s (when the Kent State shootings occurred), I lived in Cleveland OH, ~40mi from KSU (Kent State University) - I had no friends at KSU, but the occurrence was CLOSE TO HOME.
Insofar as MLK is concerned, I'm going to give you some info that most Americans don't know:
MLK didn't manage the Civil Rights Movement alone - MLK's partner was a very close friend, Thích Nhất Hạnh (nickname Thây, which means "master teacher"), the world's most famous Vietnamese Buddhist monk (who died just last January, at 95yrs of age ☸︎ 😪🙏🏼) ... MLK and Thây managed the Civil Rights Movement AND the worldwide protest against the Vietnam War TOGETHER. When Thây got the news that his good buddy was assassinated, he cried and couldn't eat or sleep for 4 DAYS.
(BTW, until 2019, shortly before the Covid-19 pLandemic started, I lived in HCMC/Saigon Vietnam - I flew to the Philippines, with a round-trip ticket and the intention of taking a vacation and renewing my long-term Viet visa upon reentry of Vn but, before I could return to Vn, the lockdowns, restrictions, travel bans etc were started, so I've been STUCK here in the Ph for ~3yrs but, when "the time is right," I WILL return to Vn.👁💘 🇻🇳)

Clyde, I’m really sorry that you took my comment as an insult. It was not meant that way at all. Actually it was meant as a member of a generation sharing some of the terrible memories of the time. I will watch the interview with Oprah with much interest. I am always open to learning more. I guess I did forget the mass shooting in Texas. You got me there. You missed my point about us maybe being able to change history… but I guess you got so angry that you didn’t really understand what I was trying to say.
BTW, Leslie, we shouldn't try to change history - it's in the past, so we CAN'T, but we need to LEARN FROM IT and MOVE FORWARD.
No problem, Leslie - I often seem stern and I admit that I AM sometimes, though I WASN'T offended or angry (I'm very difficult to offend or get pissed off 😉👍). I was raised by a strict but GREAT father who was an M.D., a U.S. Army Captain, deployed in Nagasaki Japan for 4yrs, starting about 4 months after the "Fat Man" nuke was dropped, then he spent 2yrs in a MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) unit during the Korean War. I more or less "followed in his footsteps," but in a slightly different direction, by doing a hitch in the U.S. Navy during the last years of the Vietnam War, before the U.S. pulled out. I was in charge of 40 men (about half the personnel in my company), I had a secret clearance, the NCO that I worked directly under and answered to was a Senior Chief Petty Officer, Navy SEAL (I was also given full SCPO privilege, yet my actual rank and salary were NOWHERE NEAR E-8 🙄). I think you'll "get the picture." 🤔🤣😂🤣

BTW#2: While trying to figure out how to upload the MLK/Thây pic, I took a peek at your profile, to see if I could share the pic with you that way - I couldn't, but I noticed that you're Jewish ... my maternal grandfather was a full (German) Jew and my dad had a bit of Jewish ancestry as well, so I'm a bit more than one-quarter Jewish ethnicity. About 20yrs ago, I bought some genealogy software to trace my ancestry as far back as possible - I traced my paternal side all the way back to the early 1600s, but I found NOTHING beyond my maternal grandfather. All I know is that his parents brought him to the U.S. when he was an adolescent and Hitler was starting to take power in Germany - they looked/asked around, to find a family that would take him in ... they finally found an Amish family in Pennsylvania who'd take him in, not as a son, but as a farm worker, then his parents returned to Germany. I found NO birth, marriage or death records, NOTHING of ANYONE, so I finally concluded that ALL my maternal grandfather's relatives were KILLED and all their legal records DESTROYED BY NAZIS.😪💙🤬🤬🤬
