First, compartmentalization. This prevents any single person (like Seneca) or group from being able to do very much, if anything at all. Thus, Seneca's influence back then could and did have a meaningful impact. A 'Seneca' today would simply be ignored, ousted, criminalized, or snuffed out.
Second, Nero was a single individual and the actual 'source' of the problem. In the USA today, a POTUS like Biden or Obama is more of a figurehead-pawn - certainly not the 'source' of the agenda. The actual source is a group of Globalists, most of them international, who would be completely unmoved by a 'Seneca' and would, if threatened, simply remove that 'Seneca' by any number of ways. Dr. Alexander, you wrote many things here, all deserving comment, but that would be too lengthy so I'll refrain other than to make one quick point.
Unlike your position, I could *NOT* serve under Harris, Biden, or Obama, just as I could not serve under (any) Clinton or Xi Jinping. The reason is simple: When I know with absolute certainty that the person I would be serving under is pure corruption and evil, how would I be able to reconcile that knowledge with contributing to that person's regime? How could I assist a psychopath to advance an agenda that will hurt countless millions of innocent victims? Also, wouldn't that make me an accomplice in those crimes? Of course, I'm not asking for perfection (since no person can foot that bill), but if it's pretty-much established that the person is *NO GOOD* then how could I serve under that person? Later, when the crap hits the fan, I could not claim ignorance since I KNEW that the person was no good. Harris and Obama are known entities - no mystery there. Anyway, that's my take of this.

One quote among many for which Seneca is remembered is "All cruelty springs from weakness." Seneca's wisdom was on a par with that of Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius, the 16th Roman Emperor, known as one of very few good emperors. Most emperors were brutal tyrants. Nero was particularly brutal. Many have asked how could Seneca have served such a brutal emperor as Nero. Seneca used his position to moderate Nero's excesses. If not for Seneca, Nero's reign would likely have been even more brutal.

The significant difference is that today's political scene, while having a few general similarities, is nothing like that of 2,000 years ago. This is due to 3 primary reasons:
First, compartmentalization. This prevents any single person (like Seneca) or group from being able to do very much, if anything at all. Thus, Seneca's influence back then could and did have a meaningful impact. A 'Seneca' today would simply be ignored, ousted, criminalized, or snuffed out.
Second, Nero was a single individual and the actual 'source' of the problem. In the USA today, a POTUS like Biden or Obama is more of a figurehead-pawn - certainly not the 'source' of the agenda. The actual source is a group of Globalists, most of them international, who would be completely unmoved by a 'Seneca' and would, if threatened, simply remove that 'Seneca' by any number of ways. IOW, there are many, many isolating layers between a 'Seneca' and a power source today in contrast to Seneca and the Emperor 2,000 years ago.
Third and last, trying to fix the present ultra-corrupt system from *within* is simply not possible. The people protecting the system have constructed a great many checks and balances to protect their system from any individual or group. It's far better to mount an attack from outside the system. The exception to that would be a benevolent, courageous POTUS that would "drain the swamp" and declare war on the Fat Rats of that swamp. Then the system can be used to clean itself up. But, as you know, we don't have such a person. Trump was **supposed** to be that person in 2016 but turned out to be a dud, or worse.

The Palestinians in Gaza were living under a blockade before the invasion, meaning that Israel controlled everything that went in and out of their little fenced in strip of land.
