True but in the case of Canada it takes an especially shocking turn. The image and reputation of this country is one of 'order and good governance' and low corruption. Covid exploded this image and exposed it for the myth it was. From the political to the medical to the courts - all compromised and openly and blatantly so.

My cousin described Canada as Bill Cosby. Beloved comedian and celebrity with a great reputation who was secretly dark and disturbed. Canada went from a nation of being polite and sensible to ranting, hysterical cowards.

In some way, ahead. It appears the U.S. may have leaned on Canada to take hard action against the truckers. Regardless, both countries are run by extreme ideologues and two incompetent buffoons.
