If Jew is not a race, then why a DNA test for Jewish birthright citizenship?
What “race” isn’t a race, but literally tries to trace their genealogy back to 12 original tribes. LOL…Your last name is literally from the tribe of Benjamin….
“It’s not a race… it’s not a religion… it’s nothing. You can’t even mention it!!!… LMAO
It’s a religion & a nation. You can trace genetics because up until recently there was very little intermarriage outside the religion. It has nothing to do with race. There are Jews of every color from black to white & in between. More ignorance.
What I’m saying is… in modern lexicon, the word “race” is used to discuss a specific group of people. There’s the Irish race, the German race, etc etc… when discussing “people who call themselves Jews”, they’re not saying Jewish national, because that would entail an Israeli citizen. They’re not saying Jewish religion, because that would entail religious connotations (and I don’t think any of us would want to call Jeffrey Epstein a “religious Jew”).
So the word race is used, because it fits the best. When John Stewart says he’s a “Jew” he’s not saying “I’m a temple going, unleavened bread eating, head covering Jewish man… he’s literally saying, to the rest of the world that he’s not of any white race, or black race, he’s of a Jewish race.”
I dunnooo….. I mean, I feel like we’re really playing word games here. Like, I have to call semantics in this… everyone uses the word “race” to mean a specific group of people..like a “race” of anglo saxons, or a “race” of Germans… I don’t see how a very specific ethno group , who’s very concerned about DNA, lineages, and family trees, gets to say, “yeah but it’s not a race”…
Seems a little word gamey to me….
I mean if someone said to me, “the Irish race” I don’t think I’d be arguing with them about the whole semantics of haplogroups and all that.l,I kind of think I’d know what they meant.. I mean, when someone asks my wife her race, she says Congolese…
Has she had her DNA study done? You don’t know that it originated from the Congo. If she’s an American citizen then yes her nationality is American. If you would see a map of 25,000 years & the movement of people across the globe & you know your haplotype then you know your origin. And you don’t get that from Ancestry.com I don’t believe.
Jew is NOT A RACE. YOU ARE SO IGNORANT.

Well my bad, the Jewish newspaper “The Forward” says Jews are a race.
https://forward.com/culture/155742/jews-are-a-race-genes-reveal/
Did you read the entire article or just the headline? Because it’s more nuanced than just ‘Jews are a Race.’

No, sorry. We were a nation when wandering in the desert. A nation as in ‘a people.’ Not as in a country.

If that means she comes from the Congo, that’s her nationality. Not her race.
Her DNA comes from the Congo. Her nationality is American.

She had a DNA test done because she doesn’t remember her father. It came back majority Congolese haplogroup.
Congratulations. But if she doesn’t remember her father that’s only her mothers side. mRNA. She doesn’t know her other half.
