There are six grandchildren I have and my youngest daughter has two girls 13 and 14. I have always babied them and they attend church with me every Sunday. The youngest is especially attached to me and their grandmothers are involved in their lives as I am but not to the same degree.
In my work I have a client list of retired clients mainly women who lost their husbands. Men usually pre decease their wives. I see more and more widows and many are lonely and not used to it. A woman up the road is 80 and alone, and I text her every morning to see if she is alright. We do her maintenance work. At night I text her back to see if all is well. She is grateful for my involvement in her existence. My neighbor, a young woman has agreed when the time comes to look after the "aesthetic" issues it is not my place to be involved in. (bathing her, doing her laundry, etc) Known her for over 2 decades and expect to be there to enable her to live in her house until her end which is her desire. I know one day she will not answer my texts and I will go there and find her deceased. She is happy and her two children and grandchildren visit her regularly. In the country people tend to aid others a lot.
I do visit with her at times until she is tired and needs to sleep.
She is not seeking a relationship having others around her of family and friends. I hope you have some yourself and relatives too with both willing to aid you.
