Does that mean that those cells will replace themselves copying the altered DNA instructions to make spike proteins for as long as each particular cell type lives, or is there some repair mechanism in the cell that will "fix" the cell when it is replaced?

How do we check to see if we have the spike protein in our blood. Who will check this for us?
