But the Pence voters will still switch to DeSantis in the end, now that DeSantis has voted for the heartbeat bill. They can count on DeSantis.
DeSantis will continue to fall in the polls and will use his wife's health as an excuse to drop out of the race. (Even though she is said to have made a full recovery, he will pretend she has had a relapse -- to save face.)

I suggested doing something very similar when advising a political campaign some years ago. Sex scandals can be good. They humanize the candidate. You're probably right but when it happened at the time I wondered if he had done it deliberately and thought that if he had it was pure political genius. Women are not as prissy as some people believe. It would have been different if he was bragging about sexual assault but, contrary to how the Dems and RINOs try to misrepresent it, he wasn't.
