Yes, Steve. The "approved" Comirnaty brand of the Pfizer shot has only ever been available in Germany (the home of state-sponsored BioNTech) and possibly other EU members states.
I believe this to be because administering an "approved" injection in the U.S.would nullify the protections against legal liability guaranteed for injections under EUA (Emergency Use Authorization).
