Good, but what the criminal ATF does is make up more "rules and regulations" concerning guns of any kind, as part of an ongoing attempt at restricting or removing our 2nd Amendment rights. They get people to comply, before the regulation is struck down by the SC, but they have already damaged our freedoms.

NO law of any kind regarding arms is constitutional.

Do not comply. Abolish the ATF TOO.

yes, agreed 100%

I forgot about the ATF in my comment. You said it for me, quite well.

This is important ruling protecting the 2nd amendment to avoid the slippery slope toward tyranny against an unarmed public.

that is their aim, slow creep erosion

they want you defenseless to the mujahadeen islamist jihadist...the salafi, wahabi islamist

Yes, but they pull this crap, knowing these regs will be struck down, and the damage is done.

It's a perfect example of the regulatory Deep State at work. Good to see the SCOTUS continuing a pattern of recognizing the 50 states' individual responsibility for all powers not specifically granted to the federal government.

This is another opportunity to mention how important electing Trump is with respect to appointing Supreme Court justices. We don't want Biden to have the power to appoint another Kagan, Sotomayor or Ketanji to join the woke woman minority on the Court who voted against this ruling.

Three justices obviously do not, in direct conflict to their oaths, intend to uphold the United States constitution! The 2nd Amendment is not up for debate!

Were those the three votes against the ruling? Figures.

Interestingly, there are more democratic judges on the bench who didn't vote with these 3.

thats the key, its whats done in the interim...thats why we need these bitches impeached, these judges to who it in the first place

"...a firearm equipped with the accessory does not meet the definition of "machinegun" under federal law" How did the democrats' lawyers even think SCOTUS would rule in their favor? Oh that's right, democratic lawyers are so used to making up their own laws it was worth a try.

Was it not Trump that banned them after the Las Vegas incident? In any case, it paid off and now we have precedent. Note that Dem justices vote against. Democrats are EVIL. They must NEVER AGAIN rule this country. Never forget that

Trump was actually the one who initially signed an Executive Order to ban bump stocks, not the Biden administration.

This is not a loss for the Biden administration, it’s a loss for the people of this country who are being slaughtered by lunatics with automatic weapons. Guns are now the leading cause of death in children in the US. That is shameful and sickening.

Expand full comment

I dont buy that data...I will take the guns, and we educate etc. we need our guns. legal. 2nd

Expand full comment

The "lunatics" pulling the trigger are responsible, not the gun. It seems so clear to me that making it difficult to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights is only an impediment to law-abiding citizens. A lunatic bent on killing will find a way, the law be damned.

That’s simply not true. The 2nd leading cause of non-illness deaths is knives. They account for about 1500 deaths a year, mostly of women in domestic violence situations. By comparison, about 45000 die by guns each year, and as noted previously, guns are the leading cause of death in children now. More than car accidents, more than drownings. Only in the US. How can you be okay with that? It really boggles my mind.

Also subtract victims successfully shooting the criminals that try to rob, rape, kill them.

You need to subtract criminals shooting each other in democrat cities.

Here’s an article re murders in 2022. Guns of various types account for the overwhelming majority of those deaths, with knives a distant second, and hammers way down on the list. Here’s a reference documenting the leading cause of death in children in the US is now guns. There are many such references available from many varied sources, if you would only care to look. Where are you getting your references from?

No one is trying to take guns away from law abiding citizens, though I will say that I don’t think any citizen should have the need for military grade weapons, such as AR 15s. The point in instituting stricter gun laws is to take the guns away from crazy people, which is how this conversation started! Better background checks and more rigorous standards for ongoing gun ownership. It’s no different than having licensing standards for driving a car. You have to pass various tests, be of a certain age, and abide by the rules of ownership - carry insurance, register each year, inspect your car to maintain its mechanical safety. If you get caught speeding, driving recklessly, driving drunk etc. there are penalties depending on the severity. Having a drivers license is not a free for all where we can all do whatever we want with our cars, yet no one is screaming “they want to take away our cars”. Re the gun violence in large cities, despite in some cases there being stricter laws in place, a large part of the issue is that the guns are purchased from outside those regions, where there are lax gun laws. Once a criminal or crazy person has a gun, it is hard to prevent it from being used. Where there are more people, there are more criminals and crazy people, and there is also more poverty, which all leads to more crime in general. The reality is, 23 of the 25 states with the highest death rate by guns per capita are GOP run states. See https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/firearm_mortality/firearm.htm

City population is a big factor, again where there are more people, there are more crazy people - https://www.security.org/resources/most-dangerous-cities/

FYI, Crime is actually down in NYC - here’s a reference from Fox - https://www.fox5ny.com/news/nyc-crime-rates-stats-numbers-spring-2024
