Hospitalizations for rehabilitation after surgeries. Preventative medicine. Unheard of here. I am talking from the position of a “small world”, the way average citizen felt. Yes, we weren’t allowed to go to “capitalistic” countries. We paid half if not full salary for pair of jeans. But the feeling of security we had was worth more. It all ended with trader Gorbachev.
