Sorry. Weight control does not conform to energy in:energy out paradigm

Rather it hast to do with insulin control

Best to refer to Dr Jason Fung:

Keto and intermittent fasting

ALL “reduced calorie” diets fail. Time restricted feeding increases insulin sensitivity snd and reduces insulin secretion. Insulin secretion is the storage driver

Have you seen that goofy cow who waddle dances while she sings a jingle about how it's easy to see the pharma is lowering her A1C, and how it's a little pill with a great big story to tell...?

Dollars to dimes, with all these commercials prattling about A1C, we will find lowered A1C holds as much validity as low cholesterol.

Lost over 100lbs on weight watchers...it isn’t a scam but you are personally responsible to not gorge once you lose what you want.

I don't understand why people struggle with losing weight.

It's very simple - stop eating processed food and junk food (ever) -- and limit high carb foods (pasta etc)... do not drink sugary drinks (including cola and fruit juice)... limit alcohol intake --- and you will easily control your weight.

The problem is people want to eat that garbage -- they can't resist that sack of crisps every night with the soda .. they for some reason must have the bucket of KFC... the fries...

They cannot say no to the marketing machine

I like Dr. Fung, great advice and info. And yes, he’s one of the first that I’ve heard, regarding getting to the “root” of the problem. Which is unheard of today.

I lost 20lbs intermittent fasting and eating clean, healthy diet. My husband had high triglycerides & was pre diabetic. He takes Berberine and red rice yeast with coq10. Plus weight loss. Those numbers are in now in the normal range.

Awesome! Think of the serious dollars saved by taking care of it yourself. Plus you probably did a better job. Like you I avoid them at all costs. Today, we are actually more well informed to treat and cure ourselves than the charlatans out there.

Kudos to you on the ankle aspiration, your a brave soul.

Cut out carbs, sugar and veg oils. Eat meat, eggs and vegetables only. Your weight will never be a problem.

All diets have one thing in common: for the time of use, people on diets WATCH what and how much they eat.

Diets do NOT fail. They work for as long as people stay on them, meaning watch what and how much they eat.

NYT had an article not too long ago following some of the contestants of "The Biggest Loser" after the show. Doctors found that contestant's metabolism readjusted after weight loss to a new base metabolism rate which was much, much lower than they calculated. Simply adjusting calorie intake from the old larger body weight to the smaller body size missed the new actual metabolic rate by a mile. Contestants found they had to reduce their intake by another 40% if they didn't want to gain weight back. There's obviously much more to metabolism, weight loss, and obesity than we currently understand.

Also, fyi, the ingredient added to most yogurts and kefirs, Lactobacillus acidophilus, has been found in metastudies to contribute to obesity and significant weight gain. L. acidophilus is not necessary for fermentation, so why do they add it? Hmm, promote yogurt as a health food while fattening people at the same time? Couldn't be on purpose, could it?

Two Nobel Prizes in Economics have been awarded to behaviourists: to Kahneman in early 2000s and Thaler a few years ago. Will they be retracted?
