I was repulsed by this display as well when it came up. It seems like extreme wealth changes some people into delusions of Godhood. At the very least, this family doesn't seem to use their wealth to foment evil, like George Soros and son.
What I have found with my encounters with those whose wealth far exceeds their ability to spend their money (always exceptions) is that the wealth warps not only their realities but their perceptions and thought processes to the point they live in an almost dissociative state. They are in human bodies on this planet but you wouldn't know it if you could understand what takes place in between their ears.

But just like any society, morality must continually be worked at and the next generation trained up and renewed. But the Brits lost the spirit there. So what is left is an increasing darkness there, aflame with consumerism that is not grounded in Christ's beatitudes. [Similar could be said of most western nations at this point, but the outright decadence is not as visible mostly because of a strong remnant of people working hard to return to a better morality.
