The First Amend .does not address the separation of church and state. In fact, Jefferson who penned the phrase, paid for the Bibles to be printed and for Christian missionaries to go to the Native Americans.. He did that as POTUS. The 1st amend. was clearly to protect the

church from government.

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Patrick Henry

"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: that it tied together in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."

John Quincy Adams

"Of all the habits and dispositions which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are

indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars."

George Washington

Joseph Story, the youngest Associate Justice ever appointed to the Suprme Court , who served from 1812 to 1845, and who is considered my many as the "Father of American jurisprudence" stated:

"I verily believe Christianity necessary to the support of civil society. One of the beautiful boasts of our municipal jurisprudence is that Christianity is a part of the Common Law... There never has been a period in which the Common Law did not recognize Christianity as lying its foundations."

In 1843, a Philadelphia school wanted to teach morals without using the Bible and was sued for it. The Supreme Court ruled against them and said "Why may not the Bible, and especially the New Testament, be read and taught as a divine revelation in the schools? Where can the purest principals of morality be learned so clearly or perfectly as from the New Testament."

SUPREME COURT - 1844 - VIDAL VS GIRARD

"That if we, and our posterity, shall be true to the Christian religion, if we shall respect his commandments, if we, and they, shall maintain just, moral sentiments, and such conscientious convictions of duty as shall control the heart and life, we may have the highest hopes of the future fortunes of this country."

Daniel Webster, 1852

Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind, and it's impossible that it should be otherwise: and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian.

SUPREME COURT - 1892 –CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY VS U.S.

"It was that way up until the early 1900s and then the progressives,, atheists, socialists, and communists started taking control of America.." Don't forget Zionist. Zionist have also taken control of America. Have you heard of AIPAC? While I agree that the explicit separation of church and state was not in the first amendment, the 1st amendment did grant freedom of religion, which I consider to be a fundamental principal of the USA.

What the hell is your problem with Zionism? After what the Jews have been through for the last 1900 years, including your relatives, why wouldn't they want their own homeland? Which, by the way was an arid wasteland in 1949.

I'll take Jews living next to me any day before Muslims. For the most part, Jews don't read the Tanakh and just want to be doctors, lawyers, etc. When Muslims read their holy book, the Quran, too many of them believe what it says and want to kill all the non-Muslims.

The first Jew appointed to the SC was in 1916. The second was in 1939. While I don't know if they were Zionists or not, at least they weren't bat shit crazy loons like Ginsburg was.

What the hell is your problem with Zionism? Zionism is a relatively new ideology that started in the late 1800's, and has caused a lot of problems for Jews, Muslims, and others since it's formation. Similar to communism, which also happened to be a Jewish ideology (yes, Karl Max is Jewish), Zionism is an insidious ideology, that is founded upon racists nationalistic principals, which are antithetical to a free civilized society.

right... Jews (of all nationalities) just want to be left alone to live in peace and somehow that's insidiously wrong.

BTW, you're sounding more and more like an antisemitic, white supremacist, Nazi.

Yes, the Israelis settlers just want to steal Palestinian land, and live in peace on it, and are perplexed as to why the Palestinians keep complaining.

BTW: you are sounding more and more like a Jewish supremacist, and it is sad becuase the Jewish people in general don't have very high opinion of Christians. As being part Jew I can say that Jews think of Christians, in general, as gullible morons for believing that Jesus's mom was a virgin. If you were to go to Israel and wear Christian garb you would get spit on by the Israelis. https://youtu.be/z581dbGqr08
