Lynn, I have had three women tell me I am soooooo bad and one who is my best friend told me I am a terrible man. I laughed. I have no criminal record and my work keeps me in condition. I am though kind of rough. But the bottom line is all the women I know and all the ones here are far better people than I and anyway, conservative women have the nobler character traits and are usually more intelligent than my gender. I tend to adore conservative women though I do not worship the creation though I am grateful to the Creator for making such masterpieces of mind, soul, spirit and body. My dealings over 33 years with primarily women in my profession has tended to closeness with some who show their appreciation by throwing money at me. I kid you not, my best client, a medical specialist gave me a tip of a grand for only 1400 worth of work. She knows I love and visit the USA and pays me in US funds at least partially. She is generous but an atheist though that is neither here or there with her and I. I once told her years ago in front of my son and a helper that "I love you" which she knew meant "I cherish you" which is a deeper sort of refined affection.
Last week a regular client stood before me itemizing some work she needed done but then unloaded on me about her husbands stroke and some difficult neighbors. She was in tears and felt overwhelmed. What did I do. Tell her I am sorry and walk away? Nope. I told her I would deal with the bad neighbors and any other things that involved confrontations. She was immediately relieved and accepted my offer. Most women feel overwhelmed when their husbands drop into health problems caused by old age.
I find now that as you know, men die before their wives and these lonely women do NOT like to be alone. But the way it is many feel alone and vulnerable so I look after things that trouble them and they are grateful. I had one complain to me about her husband dying and the neighbor cutting her lawn. She thanked him but this guy had a lot of brass and told her she could "favor" him for the work. Yes, he meant her to sleep with him.
There is a clear need for more men and my friend tells me I should go to San Francisco where his daughter lives and become a kept man because he said there are lots of rich women all alone who would like to meet someone like me and make me a "kept" man as long as I "accommodated" them. Hmmmm.
I am being serious here in the mix. There seems to be a dire shortage of older men as many are dying off. I do have some friends of the fairer gender who are much younger but like my company and I like theirs. These are typesets of "father" and "daughter" relationships identified as phillia in scriptures and work out real well. All these gals need is a hand up and some respect, understanding and security which I offer and they take gladly.
With some there is what you women refer to as emotional intimacy but no strings attached. One asked me if there was any chance of her and I doing, "you know what." I had a small audience so like the ass I am I told her I could never go to bed with her. She asked why. I told her what she wanted to hear. I told her she was a beautiful and intelligent woman with poise and brass. She is a direct talker. I told her I would have been proud in a different place and time to have spent my life with her. But I could not go to bed with her. Her big brown eyes stared at me and she asked why? So I laid it on her with people listening. I told her if I ever went to bed with her I would be committing suicide because it would kill me. She ended up on the carpet floor laughing hysterically and my purpose was accomplished. She felt complimented and all things considered, that gal became my best friend and she has been so for 29 years. The relationship is strong and close and there exists strong affection for each the other. We can talk about anything and if you really want to know why she cares deeply for me she told me one day, "I cherish you Edward because you never tried to put your hands down the front of my pants like the rest." I told her it was not because she was not pretty inside and out, it is because I think more of her than that. Women are not to be convenient receptacles for the dirty plumbing of dirty males. And neither her nor I would dare desecrate the closeness and sacredness of our deep friendship. She told me she knew women who were jealous of the friendship we shared. She is too young for me anyway but has the acumen of a conservative woman like many women here that fits God's highest creation perfectly. I baby that gal and compensate for the deep hurt she suffered. She told me there was none other like unto me. I said is that good or bad. She laughed.
I have found out there is dimensional closeness that a man and woman can share and deepen by being friends and I have found that with four women without even trying. Males do not know what they are missing. The dynamics of a man/woman platonic friendship launch in ways that many do not know and will never know unless they try it. There is nothing to compare to it.
To any males who tell me that it is impossible to not have physical feelings towards a woman friend, and inevitably end up in bed with them, I say to not judge me by their lack of control. I am not a man who lets his desires best his will and I have never felt loved as I did the very first time I became close to an abused woman and provided her a "stay" by way of my validating her, babying her, making her feel valued and throwing away the chains of her bondage that prevented her from knowing she was beautiful inside and out in every way.
Why is it that abused women do not recognize who and what they are, or that they are pretty as a picture or that an error in judgment did not mean they are stupid when in fact the ones I know are brilliant mentally and some I know are in the top 1% of the population IQ.
