Malone and others used a standard technique of cell transfection common to all molecular biology labs in one way.

Pfizer and the others used that standard technique in another way.

What Pfizer and the others did was known from the beginning to be an unprecedented, dangerous way that infected healthy cells in multiple organ systems indiscriminately with pathogenic viral genes. The completely expected immunological outcome of this was to trigger the innate immune system to launch innate immune inflammatory attacks everywhere those cells were located to kill the cells.

This was not the intent of the en vivo therapeutic use of mRNA used by Malone, et al.

To claim that they should be punished for the other things that others did with the cell transfection techniques that existed before Malone ever got the idea of a therapeutic en vivo use of mRNA is as absurd as trying to prosecute Ford Motor Company for some get away driver’s use of a Pinto in a bank robbery. Well, actually, it’s as absurd as trying to bust a famous stock car driver for driving a model of Ford van that was later used by some jihadist Muslim asshole to run down a bunch of civilians on a city park walking path.
