This sort of parlance does not work in the real world, but for the courts what it means is party A has to put their version of the facts to the court, as does party B.
People make the mistake to think that Judges are the arbiters of truth - they are not. Judges themselves have their own inherent biases, prejudices and skewed interpretations based on their own unique life experience. They are also human beings.
Courts are not there for this illusory thing called "justice". It simply does not exist. All courts do is take a balanced view on the evidence put in front of them - either in witness testimony in a trial hearing, or on the court papers/affidavits in a motion hearing.
