Was at a cottage yesterday with one of my daughters and two grandaughters who I refer to as "my little babies" and while watching them swim, noted another cottage next door with three girls and a little sister about three feet high. The police came in six minutes but not fast enough if the assailant I had smashed to the ground at midnight with the cast on my right hand had returned with a gun as he indicated, before he got into his car and took off.
The responders were a twosome, a police woman and a seasoned veteran officer who stopped when I yelled at them to stop here and then seeing me with the gun slammed on the brakes and exited from the driver's side only to shine a spotlight in my eyes and the other pull her sidearm and aim it at me demanding I drop the weapon. I refused by saying the gun was a Model 1100 REMINGTON semi auto loaded with number 3 buckshot, a sure killer in range of me and the street.
The woman across the street looked out the door and yelled I was not the bad guy. As it turned out they soon got the picture by questioning the neighbors and the distraught woman across the road.
I was asked if I intended on shooting to kill and the officer was directed to check the ammo he had ejected from the gun and seeing the number three buckshot loads he had his answer. I was fully prepared to kill to defend two innocent people, one a young five year old boy.
This was not a mere fight, it tested me as I examined myself and the answer was I indeed was willing and able to kill if necessary which I would have done had he returned and exited the car with a firearm.
Brutal and cruel attitude!!! Nope. And the police warned me that it was illegal to have a loaded gun in the city but gave me back the gun and the shells and were courteous.
