I read about Nattokinase several years ago and added it to my diet, and since then have added Quercetin with Bromelain, NAC with Bromelain, and extra C, D and Zinc. The Quercetin and NAC I take just once or twice a week.

10,000 units /day of Nattokinase can dissolve plaque and prevent ischemia/reperfusion that injures the epithelium and leads to plaque build up in the first place. But what else dissolves plaque plus softens arterial walls and thus reverses atherosclerosis (and prevents it)? A diet high in potassium. As in 5000mg+/day. Adequate Potassium reduces clotting. Plus, potassium is actually released from thrombocytes which can help relax and open vessels to prevent ischemia. But only if sufficient potassium is present in the bloodstream.

A Paleo diet can provide over 10,000mg of potassium/day, which is more than twice the RDA. But only if plants consumed are grown in soil not depleted of potassium, and animals we eat are not deficient.

A diet of junk and highly processed food does not provide enough potassium.

We eat what plants and animals eat. Effectively, their deficiencies can be passed on to us.

Google potassium content of food, then approximate how much potassium you are eating daily. If under 4,000 mg/day, you're not getting enough.
