He understands free markets and sees the results of corporatism and regulatory capture with respect to agencies like the FDA, EPA and defense department but he doesn’t see the root cause, which is as Hyack put it, the Fatal Conceit. Regulatory capture and corruption and corporatism are always tied to governmental power. The demand will always rise to meet the available supply. That is why the only solution to these issues is to shrink the size of government, decentralize and strip the administrative state of its power. There is no liberty and no protection from markets which are captured by special interests which is the inevitable consequence of a powerful centralized government. I like RFK immensely, but I don’t think he gets it.
