Elevated 'Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome' (POTS) risk after COVID mRNA technology gene injection vaccine: POTS after COVID-19 vaccination and SARS-Cov-2 Infection (Kwan et al.)

In a cohort of near 300,000 COVID-vaccinated individuals, the odds of POTS are higher 3 months after vaccine exposure than 90 days before exposure; a possible association between COVID-19 vax & POTS

‘Given that COVID-19 vaccination elicits an immunological response to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein, there is biological plausibility for a similar, even if attenuated, systemic response to vaccine when compared to that seen from viral exposure.’

Researchers ‘evaluated the relation between COVID-19 vaccination and new POTS-related diagnoses by assessing the odds of diagnosis in the baseline 90 days before first vaccine exposure versus the subsequent 90 days after vaccine exposure in a sequence–symmetry analysis’. In short, they looked at any new diagnoses given prior to and after they were vaccinated so as to understand if the shots changed risk of new emerging health problems.

Researchers found ‘evidence of POTS-associated diagnoses occurring more frequently after COVID-19 vaccination than before vaccination…a possible association between COVID-19 vaccination and incidence of POTS.’
