There is no doubt that muslims were vile slavers. But were Christians, to the extent for which they have been blamed? Why do White Christians always get the blame for the slave trade in the US and the Caribbean? Were White Christians perhaps under-represented among those who carried out the vile trade in human beings?

"Almost as soon as it appeared, in 1991, The Secret Relationship generated a controversy that centered more on its intentions than its scholarship. The noise level was heightened in 1993 by the turmoil that swirled around Professor Tony Martin, of Wellesley College. A tenured professor in Wellesley's Department of Africana Studies, Martin assigned to one of his classes portions of the book, which singles out Jews for special prominence in the Atlantic slave trade and for having played a particularly prominent role in the enslavement of Africans in the Americas. He was accused of anti-Semitism, and wrote a brief book to refute the charges.

The title of Martin's book, The Jewish Onslaught: Despatches From the Wellesley Battlefront, gave a clear preview of his opinions. It was a mixture of discussion, factual refutation, and angry recrimination. This last predominated, with paragraphs that opened using language like "To the Jews, and to their favourite Negroes who have insisted on attacking me I say . . ." His views on The Secret Relationship's use of historical materials amounted to a barrage of enthusiastic endorsements.

Ironically, Martin's assertion that "Jews were very much in the mainstream of European society as far as the trade in African human beings was concerned" was very close to what many Jewish scholars had claimed some thirty years before. Martin, in one of his endorsements, made a startling assertion concerning slave ownership by Jews: "Using the research of Jewish historians, the book suggests that based on the 1830 census, Jews actually had a higher per capita slave ownership than for the white population as a whole." The Secret Relationship does in fact approach making that suggestion, and since the claim would appear to be a pivotal one, it is worth examining."

It's a very contentious topic. There certainly appears to be no "settled science" about evil white Christians being the dominant slave traders, as opposed to the fall guys who have been made to take the rap. There was very little history of slave owning among the early Christians. One can't say that about all religions. Slave trading and slave owing is anathema to Christianity.

It is possible that Kamala Harris' prolific slave owning ancestor Hamilton Brown was descended from people whose name was "Braun" before it was changed to "Brown." Kamala Harris may not have Christian ancestors. There may be a good argument for her to pay reparations along with Barack Obama whose ancestors on his mother's side appear to have been slave owners. These ancestors also might not have been of the Christian faith.

Never will the “Roach’s” stop Milton, their lives are one giant lie! They have “nothing” to offer humanity, zero, un-gats, nada! Which is exactly why each and every time they blame someone else!

Thomas Sowell does an amazing job depicting exactly what these “Roach’s” are all about.

Of course he’s not a fan of anyone on the left because, truth be told, he’s right!

As long as they have MSM on their side, the only way anyone can find the truth is by doing your own research.

It took “Snoops” 7 years to finally admit the truth about the “Russian Dossier” as one example. Thousands of examples exist and as long as Americans continues to believe one side, the truth doesn’t matter for at least half of the country.

Reparations: People who never owned slaves must pay people who never were slaves. Idiocy!

Members of my family fought to fee the slaves. Some of them did not survive the war. We will pay nothing ... ever!

boom, exactly my argument. 'People who never owned slaves must pay people who never were slaves. '

Yes, indeed. I'm well-versed in these aspects of human trade history. Everyone could be made a slave in those trying times. I believe Epictetus himself was a slave for a significant part of his life. Feudalism and slavery are what the globalist elite wants to impose on us. This is the fight of our time.

"Epictetus was born a slave in Hierapolis in Asia Minor, and taken to Rome at an early age. There, he grew up as a slave in the household of Epaphroditus, himself a former slave of the emperor Nero. While still a slave, Epictetus got the opportunity to study philosophy with the famous Roman Stoic, Musonius Rufus."

Slavery existed many times throughout history African Muslims enslaved white Europeans. Also when communism existed many were worked and walk to death. We walked the Native first people to their death Trail of Tears taking away the lands that belongs to all to individual plots or acres. Russia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Italy, and many others. The peasants worked for the crown to be fat happy lazy while they barely survived. The one that keeps getting told to me is between Ireland and England many men were knocked out to be awakened on board a ship to work. Genghis Ghan enslaved as domestic help or fight in war if not death the man didn't play. Strange he got the nomadic people together, sometimes an ally was not and slaughtered them. He was attacked from the rear and never left that position ever open again after that.

Reparational reprobates. Why do not these slob 'gimme" "freebies" not look for reparations from moslems who enslaved whites and blacks for 1400 years a lot longer than the states? Huh?

I get beyond sick of the left's obsession with slavery. If you read even a tiny amount of world history you will quickly see that slavery has existed for thousands of years, in every civilization on every continent. Slavery was discussed in the Old Testament 3,000 years ago. What is important is not so much who had slaves (because virtually everyone everywhere had slaves at some point in time), but rather, who ABOLISHED slavery. And WHEN. There was slavery for a relatively short period of time in America, especially when compared to other civilizations. People need to get educated about slavery and basically shut up about it. Where it still exists (there are a few places in the third world) put your efforts into abolishing it there.

Interesting topic of discussion Paul. I remember in my classic Arts education a major in Anthropology that the dark skinned were always the oppressed and white European always the oppressors. Obviously, we were taught never to investigate too deeply against our ingrained indoctrination. I also lived in Rockhampton in the 80s and have first hand experience with segregation, tokenism and racism. But it is not what ppl think.

As a fair skinned red-haired person I was seen as bottom of the barrel. Not even about race, simply having red hair made me guilty of everything. I paid for my entire education while my darker skinned cohort were paid and had books. I was perplexed by this, not jealous. But I saw the obvious strains of overcompensating based on skin colour. Tokenism was the political sway for populism.

I daren't cross the street toward a pub that were just for Aboriginals, or I would be abused and threats of assault. I never tried my luck staying on the park side watching their brothers and sisters, who could not afford pub prices drinking metho. In all fairness they might have just wanted to stay exited from the system. I felt even then a real cry for help in terms of lost culture and soul of their communities which could not adapt to suburban white European or city lifestyles. One house I used to walk past had 24 living there and they had a pit fire in the lounge room that used to billow smoke out their place so they would always have their door open.

This is not a racist comment, this is my observation of the cultural differences in the era I grew up in with a very large population of indigenous.

I had an Aboriginal friend who would study with me, she was a kind soul doing her best to embrace learning in the school environment. The majority though had no good reason to be there other than act cool and abuse those who wanted to learn. Maybe they were much smarter than me seeing our education system for the indoctrination that it is. Most of what we were learning was fake history of the supposed 'victors' who needed a good bashing.

In Australia there is a good read Red Over Black by Geoff McDonald about how communism infiltrated the Aboriginal Land Rights movement also written in the 80s. We now know why they were working this angle, all part of a UN pus to divest Australia of its natural resources into globalist pockets using the conduits of communism and the socialist faction Fabian Society which underpinned the Labor Party.

Once again Dr A you speak truth with honesty on a subject that simply must be considered, understood and put to DEATH if we can. The root of slavery (the word) is Slavic as in the Slavic peoples being perhaps the first to be enslaved. So there's just no good place to stop this nonsense of reparations were it ever to get started. We would have to pay reparations back to the beginning of time. It's nonsense and like the overwhelming majority of the rest of our problems, it's caused by ignorance of the issues. And that's exactly how they planned to take us down from the inside out. Through revised history lessons!

There was more UK /Irish white slaves than black slaves. They were shipped thinking they had a job only to be raped and put into slavery. We have a black month why not Irish month as history shows more Irish slaves than black slaves.

Good points.

Maybe because we Irish don't complain and expect handouts. We worked hard, succeeded, honored our heritage, and earned respect and admiration.

Reparations? Geez, sounds like we need a fact-check! The slavery that occurred in North America was an extension of the slave trade that had been around since ancient times. The USA was an organized country for only 20-years before the slave trade was outlawed here [in 1808]. Anyone that knows history understands that if Reparations are paid, they should be paid by the countries of Africa and Europe. This is simply a debt of very few people in the USA and that debt was most likely paid for in other ways. Ask yourself what toll did the Revolutionary War have on slave owners. How about the Civil War? Sherman's March? It's time to understand history, not blindly pay for it. Americans were never known to directly enslave people. When they fought the Indians, were Indians enslaved? When they fought Mexicans, were Mexicans enslaved? Slavery had existed in Africa since ancient times because Africans would TRADE THEIR OWN in exchange for goods. Later, enslaved Africans became part of the international trade network used extensively by the Spanish and the Portuguese in the Americas. By the 1480s Portuguese ships were transporting Africans for use as enslaved laborers on sugar plantations in the Cape Verde & Madeira islands. During those early years, the Portuguese generally purchased Africans who had been enslaved during tribal wars. Spanish conquistadors took enslaved Africans to the Caribbean after 1502, but Portuguese merchants still dominated the transatlantic slave trade for another century and a half, operating from their bases in the Congo-Angola area. The Dutch became the foremost traders of African slaves during parts of the 1600s, and in the following century English and French merchants controlled about half of the transatlantic slave trade, taking a large percentage of their human cargo from the region of West Africa between the Sénégal and Niger rivers. The English became involved with the Slave Trade starting in the mid to late 1600's and the pattern of Triangular Trade across the Atlantic was formed. Goods brought from England to Africa included iron products, cloth, trinkets and beads, copper, guns, & ammunition. Slaves were the most important 'commodity' sent from Africa due to the free labor needed for European [not American] expansion. At the time of the American Revolution, there was widespread support in the American colonies for prohibiting the importation of more slaves. After the Revolution, at the insistence of Southern states, Congress waited more than 2-decades before making the importation of slaves illegal. When Congress did so, in 1808, the law was enacted with little dissent. It should be noted that Great Britain did not outlaw Slave-trade in its territories until 1833. The countries directly responsible for the triangular slave trade are in Africa and Europe. If it's not obvious, then you are stupid, ignorant, or unwilling to face the facts.

The phrase 'racism' did not exist until the Jewish takeover of Russia in the 1910's. There is no such thing. There is hatred - hatred of many things - many things for good reason - for example, I hate evil. But there is no such thing as Racism. Just like the was no such thing as Anti-Semitism until the same Jewish led Russian Revolution. Look back through Dictionaries prior to 1910. You will find the phrase Anti-Christian, but not Anti-Semitism. Wonder who controls the narrative now?
