This is tragic.Up until 2015 Canada was cleanest..safest..kindest places in the world! What happened in 2016 to change this? This is the doing of WEF/UN and open borders. It is heartbreaking to see this! For what?

I lived in Toronto many years (1987 - 2005), and came to love the city. The ruination being visited upon it is grievous.

Funny how the criminals have no problems acquiring guns, but it's illegal for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. 🤔💩

I am afraid with uncontrolled immigration, violence will spread to other cities...I agree with Pat, this is a result of the open border policies initiated by the UN and WEF.

And naive, "bleeding-heart liberals" going along with those destructive open-border policies to show their social justice "credentials."

4 years ago, I never would have thought that Canada, Australia and New Zealand would by taken over by treasonous, corrupt puppets of globalists, and subject their citizens to such tyranny, fascism and suppression of free speech.

Such a shame, I love Canada, have been to many parts of the country over the years. Beautiful country and nice people.

Thank you, Joseph. I wouldn’t dare speak for others but the core people of Canada in general do subscribe to the golden rule. In our coddled weakness, having forgotten the lessons and sacrifices of the great wars, we allowed the subversion of our institutions to occur under our noses.

Asleep we no longer are. And it has become an amazing time to live, in which real men and real women engage in the movement to retake the country from the theft by WEF.

I follow what goes on in Canada. And you're right, I read thousands of posts from Canadians who have had enough. I'm rooting for Canadians to take their nation back.

Sad to hear this. I visited Toronto in the summer of 1966 before my Senior year in H.S. On the tour we were on, it was the cleanest, most beautiful city we stopped at. Very friendly folks there also. To hear what it’s become is heart breaking.

The perpetrator looked like he was all jabbed up so it might have been jab rage. It's Canada where they lined up for jabs like they were free police truncheons at a Trucker protest. Plus the victim probably asked for it by not handing over his wallet as reparations for what some other white guy's ancestors allegedly did to some other black guy's ancestors hundreds of years ago. It was definitely a racist hate crime on the victim's part. He disrespected the perpetator's religion by not covering his mouth with a mask and by attacking the perpetrator's knife with his torso.

Don't fret , our new mayor "Olivia Chow" intends to put social workers in the subways to fix the issue . I hope she gives them kevlar vests ( on the city's dime) and I'm pretty sure they aren't trained in social work school to work the mean streets of Toronto . Maybe she'll pay for some mixed marshal arts training as well - Bruce Lee style as she raises the taxes for their extra training . Maybe she'll even get to use her new mayoral powers to lock people into their homes "for the good of us all " - protecting us from those climate changing thugs . Be interesting to see which news outlets come up with the real story about this situation and pretty sure it won't be an MSM source.

nah, she’ll just defund the Toronto police and blame Ottawa (after Polliviere takes office) and mental health … it’s the woke way (blame everything and everyone but myself)

Glad to see your optimistic idea for a new PM . I am now thinking the fix might be in with young trud.. and co - the weffers as well as, the xi invaders here.

if prince Turd gets re-elected, Chow won’t be able to blame Ottawa and she definitely won’t take any blame herself since she’s 100% woke … blame it on Tory perhaps? he was as useful as a ship at the bottom of the sea (longest covid lockdown of any city in the world).

Crosstown and Metrolinx got some great deals under his watch , I'll assume. Interesting political times . At this point , I'm not sure who is capable of getting anywhere with anything. I just found out , in my own area , a small garden entrance to a park had "many committees" from the city deciding what is "allowed" to be planted and that took years . One part, with what is "allowed" to be planted is dead as a door nail- imagine this is just gardens by bureaucracy . I need to find a good social worker to fix that issue but I guess they will be in the underground subways wrestling the bad guys .

Expand full comment

😂. social workers will just blame climate change for the dead part of the garden and praise what’s left as “great work by the committee”. it’s heartbreaking to see a nice city like Toronto begin the descent towards Baltimore/Portland/Detroit/Chicago/etc … what do all those have in common i wander?

Kind of heartbreaking to see very little aesthetic in the city overall and not sure why we don't have one ? In the big scheme of things , I suppose it doesn't matter, but I do believe in the Architecture of Happiness in that surroundings can have an effect on how you feel .

Nope - Dr. Alexander is mistaken about Toronto's crime source. It all started when Pierre Trudeau opened our immigration doors to Jamaica that was once the murder capitol of the WORLD. Indeed they are such bad actors that the Cayman Islands, the UK, Turks and Caicos even Canada at one time blocked Jamaican migration simply because they bring too much crime to their country's.

Even in Jamaica they know about "Jane and Finch". I read a quote many years ago about a lady there saying to the reporter that she didn't know what all the fuss was about when people there hear gunshots because in Jamaica they hear gunshots EVERY day. Now Toronto crime is a combined source from Jamaican heritage kids and lawless Somalia. They are rival gangs spreading out from Toronto to surrounding cities.

Many affluent educated Jamaican's in Toronto who have made great contributions to our society. I agree with Dr. Alexander.

When I lived in Newmarket we enjoyed company with a wonderful Jamaican family. Husband was self employed upholsterer, wife was a nurse one daughter ended up being a doctor and the other a lawyer. The husband had tried to emigrate to the US but was thwarted in doing so and admitted it was because of the crime history of his island nation.

I have friends in the Cayman islands and they told me that after their island was submerged during a hurricane they imported lots of Jamaican workers to rebuild, but they ended up being criminals too and so they sent them back and blocked Jamaicans from ever immigrating to the Cayman's again.

I believe this violence works for the solutions they want to implement

1. Work from home, stay home its not safe 15 minute cities you won't need to travel.

2. We need qr code to access the subway platform and lots of expensive renos aka making the system 15 minute workable, no escape for you

3. Current system doesn't work. Chipping people means no crime.

Living in NYS in my 20s and 30s, friends and I often spent weekends in Toronto for the art museums, the classical music performances, the clean, friendly environment, the delicious Chinese food, and the great shopping. That's just a fond memory now. I don't see how that lovely time can be ever be recaptured, now that indiscriminate legal and illegal immigration and woke government policies appear to have intentionally destroyed a once-beautiful and safe city.

A must-read op-ed in the WSJ has the eye-opening headline “Covid censorship proved to be deadly.” I added my own thoughts on this superlative, important and profoundly-true essay. The link to the WSJ article is available in the Reader Comments if you can’t access the pay-walled version.

What the author (and I) are really saving is that Paul's prolific and brave writing - if it had been seen by many more people - could have saved countless lives and prevented misery of an epic scale.

I, agree that there is a true decline in this country. It is horrible to see. Torontob could be an awesome city. Canada is a beautiful country that no longer is for the people. Yes, Trudeau has made it worst, but the damage had starting before him. I might say that Trudeau is not incompetent, rather he is rather following directives. The larger problem is we have energy, environmental and social policies that follow Agenda 2030 and 2050. We are also following health policies that are supported by the World Health Orgsnization. The health policies are endorsed by the World Economic Forum because it makes money for many of their prominent members. These members lobby to push policies in their favor. These policies are structured to squash the middle-class and manipulate the economy.
