agreed, IMO a great American, brilliant, & yes, Johns Hopkins was setting up this bioterrorism program, I simply wished to update my epidemiolgy with biowarfare training, I got it, 'DA became a friend

He can be considered the father so to speak in the study of the effects of NPIs (non-pharmaceutical interventions) as it releated to pandemics etc. Brilliant. Eradicated global small-pox with other teams. Our talks were intense and I learnt lots about lockdowns, NPIs, bioterrorism, biological warfare and weaponization of pathogen e.g. plague, small-pox, tularemia, Q-fever, anthrax etc. He taught me lots in our private discussions at JHopkins and after and I was so excited he agreed to supervise me for a doctorate. You know he passed, RIP and I did my doctorate eventually with an equal giant, Dr. Gordon Guyatt, the father of Evidence based medicine out of McMaster, Canada. Gordon is a beautiful person, a personal friend and mentor and we remain so despite my argument that EBM has lost its way and it committed suicide over COVID.
